The commonly used stones are mainly divided into natural stone and artificial stone. Natural stone is divided into three types: marble, limestone, and granite.

1. Marble

Its main components are calcite and calcium carbonate, with a Mohs hardness value of about 4.5, which is soft, poor in acid and alkali resistance and weathering resistance, easily absorbs oil, water, and other liquids and is easily scratched.

The best protection for polished marble is to use a permeable waterproof and oil-proof protective agent as pre-protection before the marble is put into use. Daily use of neutral cleaning agents for regular cleaning, acid cleaning agents should not be used for cleaning.

2. Limestone

Its main component is calcite. It is relatively soft, easily absorbs oils and other aqueous liquids, is easily scratched and corroded by acidic substances, and is more susceptible to contamination than marble.

Most limestones are porous and absorbent. Some limestones are semi-metamorphic rocks with the same physical properties as metamorphic marble. It can be used to lay the ground. It is recommended that after the surface of the limestone is treated with a penetrating protective agent, it should be cleaned regularly with a neutral cleaning agent every day.

However, there are also pores on the surface, which is highly absorbent and contaminated. It is recommended to use a penetrating protective agent for pre-treatment. You can use a neutral or weak acid cleaning agent for daily cleaning.

4. Artificial stone

The natural stone of different specifications is used as aggregate, and it is made of organic (resin) or inorganic (cement) polymer materials. It is made of scientific formula, and the average bending strength should not be less than 5.0MPa. The minimum value of a single block shall not be less than 4 OMPa, which is suitable for the ground, stove, and other places. Daily maintenance can use a neutral or weak alkaline cleaning agent.
